Pratham Summer Readathon 2012

Basic Facts
Who: YOU, Pratham and SeeYourImpact.
What: THINK GLOBALLY, ACT LOCALLY by participating in the Pratham Summer Readathon 2012
When: June 15th 2012 to July 15th OR July 1st to July 31st 2012 (specific month depends upon each Pratham chapter).
How: Create a page, contact sponsors, read books, raise money, help less fortunate kids in India learn to read.

Why: Because YOU have the power to change a child’s life by reading books, right here and right now. Just $14 helps educate a child in rural areas of India for an entire year.

Click on THIS LINK to get started. Sign up, fill in your information, and click “Check out your page.” Now you’ll have a page you can easily share with your friends and family. Your page will look just like THIS ONE.
Get Going
- Download the Readathon Toolkit, with everything you need to complete a successful Readathon. Information, sample emails, and a step-by-step process for managing your fundraiser from SeeYourImpact. Download the Readathon Toolkit here!
- Ask your parents to help you contact sponsors (family members, friends, neighbors, teachers etc.) Let them know how many books you plan to read!
- READ lots of books!
- Send out thanks once the Readathon ends with emails to your sponsors (see the toolkit for help with what to say).
High School Students: Interested in doing worthwhile community service while developing organizational and leadership skills, and having a great essay for your college application?
