Announcing the Release of ASER 2013!

Pratham is pleased to announce the release of the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2013.
 
ASER is the largest citizen-led survey and the only annual source of information on children's learning outcomes available in India today. The 2013 Report was released on January 15, 2014 by Shri Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission for India in New Delhi.

“There are several major challenges for the education sector, from introducing at least one year of pre-school education to building mechanisms for open learning, continuing education, vocational training and quality education and research at the university level,” Madhav Chavan, chief executive and president of Pratham Education Foundation, said in a statement. “Political decisions are needed to address problems and they need to take into account the overall changing realities of India,” Chavan said.
