The 2nd Annual Pratham Chicago 5K / Sevathon

Pratham Chicago organized and hosted  the Second Annual 5K / Sevathon on Sunday, August 19th at Harm Woods in Skokie/Glenview.  The Sevathon was launched in the SF Bay Area four years ago to create the largest community-wide walkathon and awareness platform dedicated to “Seva” or “Service” and to local non-profits who share this principle.

On a beautiful summer day, there was enthusiastic participation amongst kids and youth, adults, and very supportive canine friends. The camaraderie and sense of community was evident as the participants stayed back to chat and shared healthy snacks.

The Chicago Sevathon had over 100 walkers and runners supporting organizations such as Indo-American Center, Pratham, Sankar Netralaya Om Trust, India Development Services, AID India, India Development Coalition of America and Allowance for Good.

The Sevathon raised over $2500 for participating organizations.
