Pratham wins Henry R. Kravis Prize in Leadership 2010
Henry R. Kravis Prize in leadership award ceremony was held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York on March 23rd.

Pratham, India's largest educational nonprofit organization, is the recipient of the fifth annual Henry R. Kravis Prize in Leadership. The Kravis Prize, which carries a $250,000 award designated to the recipient organization, recognizes extraordinary leadership in the nonprofit sector.

Pratham Wins the EMPI-Indian Express Indian Innovation Award for Read India
The EMPI Group of Institutions instituted the Indian Innovation Awards in 2005, perhaps the first of its kind in the country, as part of a larger movement entitled “Mission Innovative India” started by former President A P J Abdul Kalam. This award identifies and brings forward innovative organizations in India who thorugh their actions have introduced breakthrough changes in the Indian context and can become role models for others to emulate.
This year there were 184 applicants representing corporates, NGOs and government departments of which 8 awardees were selected. The other 7 winners are: Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage(INTACH), Akshay Patra Foundation, Samtel Display Systems, Arvind Eye Care, Gujrat Vikas Nigam, Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, Nagaland Municipal Corporation. The organizations were selected after a rigorous evaluation process validated by the Boston Consulting Group.
The award will be presented at a distinguished ceremony to be held at a later date.

ASER 2009 released
The Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2009 was released on January 15 in New Delhi. The report was released by the Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Kapil Sibal. Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Sibal commended Pratham for rendering yeoman service to the nation by bringing out the ASER report annually. Such work, he said, provided the government with critical inputs in formulating policy. View video address >>>
ASER 2009 was conducted in 575 districts. Almost 700,000 children across over 16,000 villages were surveyed. Read more about survey findings >>>

Pratham awarded the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year 2009
Pratham has been selected as the winner of the prestigious CNN-IBN Indian of the Year award in the public service category for its contributions in the field of literacy and education. The other nominees were Anna Hazare, Association For Democratic Reward, Dr Devi Shetty, Ecosphere Spiti and Naaz Foundation. The CNN-IBN award honors and recognizes Indians whose extraordinary endeavours have built brand India. Winners are chosen through a rigorous four-step process.
