| Pratham Wins the EMPI-Indian Express Indian Innovation Award for its Read India program - 2010Pratham was one of 8 winners chosen from 184 applicants representing corporations, NGOs and government departments. This award recognizes innovative organizations in India who have introduced breakthrough changes relevant to India and provide a role model for others. The EMPI Group of Institutions instituted the Indian Innovation Awards, perhaps the first of its kind in the country, in 2005 as part of a larger movement entitled “Mission Innovative India” started by former President A P J Abdul Kalam. | Pratham and Madhav Chavan Receive Prestigious Skoll Award for Social EntrepreneurshipIn conjunction with this award, Pratham will receive a three-year $1,235,000 grant from the Skoll Foundation to create an institution dedicated to identification, training, and nurturing of leaders, managers, and entrepreneurs who will not only continue to run Pratham programs around the country but who will also independently build new ideas and strengthen efforts in the area of education in the country. | Pratham Wins Award for Excellence in Information IntegrityThe Information Integrity Coalition (IIC), a not-for-profit organization that promotes awareness and understanding of information integrity, announced that Pratham is the winner of the Gold award in the non-profit category for its Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) for 2008. Pratham shared the award with Akshara Foundation, a part of the Pratham network. The EII Awards recognize organizations that provide accurate, consistent and reliable information to their customers, suppliers and partners. Pratham beat a record number of applicants who were evaluated by how they addressed Information Integrity issues and opportunities and used best practices on a sustained basis to produce demonstrable results. |
