	Pratham Wins the EMPI-Indian Express Indian Innovation Award for its Read India program - 2010 Pratham was one of 8 winners chosen from 184 applicants representing corporations, NGOs and government departments. This award recognizes innovative organizations in India who have introduced breakthrough changes relevant to India and provide a role model for others. The EMPI Group of Institutions instituted the Indian Innovation Awards, perhaps the first of its kind in the country, in 2005 as part of a larger movement entitled “Mission Innovative India” started by former President A P J Abdul Kalam. 	Pratham wins Henry R. Kravis Prize in Leadership 2010 Claremont McKenna College (CMC) announced today the selection of Pratham, India's largest educational nonprofit organization, as the recipient of the fifth annual Henry R. Kravis Prize in Leadership. The $250,000 award recognizes extraordinary leadership in the nonprofit sector. Read more »

	Pratham and Madhav Chavan Receive Prestigious Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship In conjunction with this award, Pratham will receive a three-year $1,235,000 grant from the Skoll Foundation to create an institution dedicated to identification, training, and nurturing of leaders, managers, and entrepreneurs who will not only continue to run Pratham programs around the country but who will also independently build new ideas and strengthen efforts in the area of education in the country. 	MIT's Poverty Action Lab Designates Pratham as a "Must-Buy" In 2009, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Poverty Action Lab has designated Pratham as one of seven “must buys” to reach the Millennium Development Goals. The must-buys were chosen for being highly effective at achieving specific development goals at a relatively low price.

	Pratham Receives a GiveWell Star GiveWell recognized Pratham as a top rated international charity in 2009. Fewer than 5% of the charities they considered received a star. Only organizations that have distinguished themselves in their process receive this honor. Read More »

	Pratham USA Wins Charity Navigator's Top Rating for Third Year in a Row Pratham USA has won Charity Navigator’s four-star rating—its highest possible—for the third year in a row. Pratham joins a select group of non-profits who have achieved this rare distinction. Our overall score also places us among the top 1 percent of all non-profits rated by Charity Navigator.

	Pratham Awarded the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year Award Pratham has been selected as the 2009 winner of the prestigious CNN-IBN Indian of the Year award in the public service category for its contributions in the field of literacy and education. The CNN-IBN award honors and recognizes Indians whose extraordinary endeavors have built brand India. Winners are chosen through a rigorous four-step process.

	Pratham Wins Award for Excellence in Information Integrity The Information Integrity Coalition (IIC), a not-for-profit organization that promotes awareness and understanding of information integrity, announced that Pratham is the winner of the Gold award in the non-profit category for its Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) for 2008. Pratham shared the award with Akshara Foundation, a part of the Pratham network. The EII Awards recognize organizations that provide accurate, consistent and reliable information to their customers, suppliers and partners. Pratham beat a record number of applicants who were evaluated by how they addressed Information Integrity issues and opportunities and used best practices on a sustained basis to produce demonstrable results.
