Surendra G. Sampat, Overland Park, KS, passed away February 3, 2013, while on vacation in Chennai, India.  Surendra was born July 29, 1934, in Khambhalia, India.  He grew up in India, and attended the Pune College of Engineering.  He earned his Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University in 1961.  Surendra married Rajni Kapadia on May 14, 1963.  He lived most of his adult life in Overland Park, KS where he was an active member of the Indian community and raised his two sons.  He strongly believed in education as a means to opportunity as demonstrated by his supporting and helping establish seven of his siblings and their families from India to the United States and his two sons.  His dedication to education helped provide opportunity to over 20 members of his own family as well as countless others he helped in India and Kansas City.
